Looking Up

Whenever there's a rainforest in Mount Canlaon, the four (more or less) are filled with heavy waterfalls. When the volcano is clear and calm, travelers are allowed to do trekking with trained mountaineering guides wherein my son was once among them. Photo shows my niece below the falls, looking up and enthralled by the beauty of nature. Thick fog still covered the mountain top/

Sitting atop a boulder with the waterfalls in the background is worth the hike!

There's a space for camping where trekkers are allowed to rest and stay for the night.

Campers are sound asleep as the moon rose up above.

The trail is filled with running water after the rain, but beware, do not attempt to do so while it's still raining since the current could be unpredictable!

The water flows down the lagoon. It's so cool and too cold actually.

Those who are risk-takers can go as far as the crater.

That's Mt. Canlaon at the far end and the lagoon below. The Photo was taken during sunrise giving a unique color of the mountain. In order to capture a good shot, you must be positioned on the adjacent twin mountain. This is where travelers were often allowed to witness the beauty of the volcano. Only professional mountaineers are allowed to go near the crater.
