Today also Prigozhin gave his first statement since leaving Rostov. He criticized the Ministry of Defense's plans to formalize Wagner. He again claimed that the Russian Ministry of Defense attacked Wagner and thus that's why Wagner rebelled. He apologized for killing the Russian pilots, but said it was only self defense and that no Russian troops were killed on the ground.
He said the goal of the "march" was to prevent the destruction of Wagner and hold the Ministry of Defense accountable, but not to overthrow the government. He said they turned around to avoid spilling the blood of Russian soldiers.
