This is a beautifully preserved bee going back to the mid cretaceous period found in Mianmar. Bees diverged from wasps many millions of years ago. They are so important as they are the only ones that only eat nectar and pollen. I had no idea bees went back so far and I've never seen a fossil of one. I know how important they are. Without them there would be ecological collapse. The preserved bee had a parasite. Very interesting for science, but I think its also a lesson about nature. We need to protect our bee populations. They are so vital to our survival.
