Inmate Brady Andrew Kilpatrick, the lone fugitive at large was recaptured on Aug 1st, 2017 after only 2 days on the run. Alabama authorities said the original 12 inmates used peanut butter to disguised a cell door number, subsequently tricking a guard into opening an exit door. All inmates except Kilpatrick, were recaptured in the vicinity of the jail within 12 hours. However, Kilpatrick was able to evade authorities for 2 days, later telling them he bolted for 2 hours nonstop after the inception of the escape eventually making it to Florida. Three people were arrested for aiding and abetting Kilpatrick, including his sister and fiance who allegedly drove him 700 miles to Florida after picking him up in Alabama. Local sheriff offices and the FBI teamed up along with the aid of an anonymous tip to eventually find and arrest Kilpatrick in his Florida hideout.
