Fourth Free Prison in West Bengal

Another free prison was started in Midnapore, West Bengal, India. It is the fourth free prison in this state. State Minister for External Affairs Ujjal Biswas inaugurated this prison on Wednesday.

After a period of imprisonment for life imprisonment, a new kind of prison system has been introduced to give them a chance to live together with their families to give some happiness. A free prison is a prison where convicted people can move freely. They can live with their families. Much like the house. But at a specific time of the night, they have to return to this free prison.
32 houses have been kept in this prison in Midnapore. Those who have been sentenced to life imprisonment for 22 years in prison will be given a place here.
In West Bengal, on July 31, 1987, the first prison was launched. This free prison started in Lalgola of Murshidabad district. The accused were sentenced to life imprisonment for the time being The prison authorities of West Bengal arrange to live in this prison with family members. This free prison was developed in the former Rajbari of Lalgola. There are 20 prisoners who have been lodged here in this free jail. Not only that, these prisoners get the opportunity to work outside the day. Get a chance to earn. Someone went out of jail and started a small business. But the rules are to come back in eight o'clock in their own home in the prison.
