Priyanka Chopra says it “doesn’t help” to take your mother along to auditions to avoid creepy producers – watch video

By now you must have heard the news that Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra has opened up and revealed that the actress refused demands of a reputed director, walked out of the project and lost out on 10 films because of that. Since the time Hollywood producer Harvery Weinstein has been outed as a sexual predator, news like these have been hot topic. Priyanka’s case, too, became a point of discussion and people are waiting to hear from the actress herself. She was at spotted at the LAX airport today and a paparazzi threw a question at her. The paparazzi, too, had come across the articles that quoted Priyanka’s mother as how she tagged along with her to every audition and script reading session. They asked if Hollywood actresses should do the same to steer clear of the “creepy producers”. The actress replied with a smile and said, “Doesn’t help”, as she walked away. We can only imagine what the actresses have to go through in this industry ruled by monsters.

Earlier, Priyanka’s mother Madhu, while talking to a leading daily had revealed how, once, the actress was asked to leave her mom out of the script reading session. Priyanka had said back then that if it was a script that can’t be narrated in front of her mother, then she doesn’t want to do the film. Madhu also added, “Another time, a designer told her that the director’s brief was to dress her in itsy-bitsy clothes. The director had said, ‘What is the point of having a Miss World in front of the camera if we cannot show her as her beautiful self?’ Priyanka refused to do the film. It was being helmed by a reputed director and he got upset. Priyanka lost 10 films because she walked out of that project. But she didn’t care. That is what I say to everyone. This is not the end of your life. Your life is more valuable.”
Talking about the Harvey Weinstein scandal, Priyanka has earlier said, “There are many Harvey Weinstein”. The actress is currently shooting for the third season of her hit TV series Quantico. She has also shot for two Hollywood movies – A Kid Like Jake and Isn’t it Romantic.
