How sticky notes made me 3x more productive

Who knew?

I was struggling with productivity and sticky notes came to the rescue.

Post-it, as they are called in the US.

I have tried to-do lists and reminders on phone - but they just... plain and simple... not to be blunt.. but still blunt... i mean honestly... they SUCK.

There's nothing like good ol' pen and paper.

So to be 3x more productive, you need the following:

  1. Sticky Notes (Post-it) - better if they are colored
  2. Black and Blue Pen
  3. Trash can for throwing the crumpled 'done' notes

Here's how they helped:

  1. Whenever I remember a new task that I have to do, I write it in that little sticky note. Color-coded based on task category.
  2. I write a number like 30 and circle it along with that task. (that's the estimated number of minutes/hours it will take for me to finish it)
  3. I place it on my side desk and arrange the notes by priority. The ones at the bottom are high-priority.
  4. As soon as the task is finished, it gives me immense gratification to strike that out with a different colored-pen (black for writing the task, blue for striking it off), crumple it, and throw it in the small trash can right below the desk.

Remember, no task is small or menial. They ALL go in there. So if I have to publish this very post on steemit - that goes in there too. So does, taking a picture of my sticky-notes and uploading it here.
