Why Stupid Bosses .Are Not Productive

Have you ever noticed how your boss instructs you to do something and then after you have done all the work, he then decides he doesn’t like it and you have to go back and remove whatever work you just did. And you end up doing double work.

What he does not realise is that by asking you to redo the work, and double working you, you have just lost a good amount of time which can be better put to doing something much more productive and profitable for the business, like doing more marketing (doing Facebook ads, posts, blog posts etc).

This is why I say Stupid Boss, the Main Cause of Lost ProductivityIt goes from the top down. Let’s say the boss ask the Marketing Manager to do or redo a task that is not really contributing to the company’s profit.

Something like adding a freaking full stop on all the brochures just so they all can be freaking consistent.Or like asking you to change the first letter in all bullet list to capital case.As if these trivial task are going to add a million dollars to the company’s profits. All these are in the perfectionist mindset of the boss. They think just because they pay their employees a salary, they can ask them to do anything no matter how time-consuming it is.A good Leader (not boss) will ask his team, how time consuming do you think this task is? Do you have other tasks on hand which are more profitable for the company? This perfectionist mindset of the boss and him/her NOT thinking in terms of how it affects the whole of the company’s productivity can really and severely affect the bottom line profits. When we talk about Productivity, there are 2 types of productivity:-
1) Productivity that is really profitable for the company
2) Productivity that is not really profitable, but just a waste of precious time really. If you want your business to grow & scale, you should really just be hyper focused on productivity number 1.Now what I mean from the top down is… as in the above example, the Marketing Manager gets tied up editing the brochures and trying to make it perfect and ensuring there’s a freaking full stop at the end of all sentences…If he had spent the time doing up a Facebook Ad and then publish the ad, the company would have most likely made a sale. And also plan out the next marketing strategy for his team to execute.
