Beat the Chaos of the Moment

in productivity •  7 years ago  (edited)

You all want to get more done. To achieve this, a lot of people tend to work harder, not smarter. However, it is usually not the amount of time you put in that defines if your results are successful, it is how how efficient you use time. The better you can focus, the better your ability to get results.

Please answer the following question for yourself:

Do you mainly follow your own priorities or do you allow the moment to disrupt your focus?

If you follow your own plan, which should be based on your priorities, you are focused on getting tasks done. You know where you need to go and what actions it requires. This gets you  the motivation to keep going and in the process, you feel good about yourself, because you prove to yourself you are actually able to get things done.

If you choose to allow everything and everyone around you to dictate your attention, you can end up feeling stressed and insecure. You do not prioritized your own goals and you allow others to direct you where they want. You do not follow your own plan or dream.

If you want to improve productivity, you have to be sharp on people and events claiming your time and attention. You should get a grip on your focus.

These tips help you train your focus:

  • Do not check your Social Media accounts during work, check them when you have a break.
  • Do not check your email accounts during work. Check them once a few hours.
  • If things take one minute to do, do them right away and clear them from your head.
  • Say no to people when they ask for your energy or time, or handle it very quickly.
  • Take quite times to get the focus on your own priorities and plan the actions roughly.
  • Get to know when and how you work best. Use these peak hours.

Always focus on the actions right in front of you that you have priority over. Do not allow people and events take that away. You must get focused.

Beat the chaos of the moment.
