Boost your productivity.

You wake up late in the morning because you have been partying until 3’O clock at night. You still feel a hangover from last night’s heavy intoxication. You reach out for your phone and see that the girl from the party has accepted your friend request. You start chatting with her until two hours fly by.

Having eaten nothing since morning, you order a double cheese burst pizza from the Swiggy app. Then you see a notification that Prajakta Koli added a new comedy video to YouTube. You watch the video until the food arrives. You click from one video to another until you realize that it’s late afternoon and you have the assignment to submit by the end of the day.

But as you couldn’t sleep well at night (or morning), you think of starting the assignment after a 30-minute nap. You wake up by the sharp knock at the door. Your friends arrive to ask if you have cigarettes. You smoke with them, and then the discussion goes on about the last night’s party, and another two hours are puffed away amidst smoke and discussions.

Now you start worrying about the assignment as you have only two hours before the deadline. You rush in to barely finish the 8-hour assignment in 2 hours, where you expect to get just passing marks.

Do you think you can be productive with things going on like the way I described above? Hell, no.

Improper sleep, distracting notifications, multitasking, unplanned day, and non-prioritization of tasks impede a productive lifestyle. You need to chime in to recognize these hindrances and slowly pull them far away from your life.

If you want not just to barely pass but be a topper in the assignment, make the following productivity hacks ubiquitous to your life:

# 1: Plan your day

It is very vital to plan your day above anything else. With a plan, you will feel more organized, focused, and motivated for hours ahead.

Build your to-do list such that your daily tasks are aligned with your long-term objectives. Prioritize the time for the important tasks before you do anything else.

#2: Get rid of distractions

Eliminate all external distractions that you think might pull away your focus and become a hindrance in the way of your productivity. Adopt digital minimalism to improve your productivity.

Keep the personal technology away out of reach if you want to concentrate fully on your work.

#3: Stop multitasking

If you think you are more productive when you are chatting and working on the assignment simultaneously, you are wrong. Doing several things at once is a trick we play on ourselves, thinking we’re getting more done.

In reality, our productivity goes down by as much as 40%. We don’t actually multitask. We switch-task, rapidly shifting from one thing to another, interrupting ourselves unproductively, and losing time in the process.

#4: Avoid insufficient sleep

Sleep deprivation leads to reduced work performance and productivity. Without adequate sleep, you have more difficulty concentrating, learning, and communicating.

You experience memory lapses and a decline in problem-solving abilities. On the other hand, a good night’s sleep boosts your productivity and makes you spend time more efficiently on your work.

#5: Use The Pomodoro Technique

The Pomodoro Technique helps you resist all of those self-interruptions and re-train your brains to focus. Each Pomodoro is dedicated to one task, and each break is a chance to reset and bring your attention back to what you should be working on.

This technique can help anyone who feels distracted or overwhelmed to focus on what matters.

Final words

Everyone has the same 24 hours, but some people are able to get more work done in less time. They are more efficient in their task because they have goals and a plan to accomplish their goals. They follow the right approach to managing their day without procrastinating the important tasks close to the deadline.

With the above techniques, you can get your work done effectively and efficiently and also be left with sufficient time to enjoy your life.
