I did what I thought others have recommended to upload a profile image and Avatar URL and I used postimg.org and placed what I thought was the URL and updated, and was asked to put my PW in again, which I did and it seems to have updated my settings. BUT...MY profile image shows as a complete blank and I am unclear how I can view my Avatar to confirm it is working.
Needless to say, I am confused.
Hi @entoguy. One way to upload your profile picture here in Steemit is by getting the URL or image address of the picture you want to use. Open your Facebook account using Mozilla Firefox. Try selecting one of your profile pictures. Right-click on your picture and then click on "Copy image address." Paste the copied image address into your Steemit Profile image URL. Save it and it should work. Let me know if it still will not work. We'll look for an alternative solution. Good luck!

Thanks I will try that because I have a local butterfly picture on my FB page that is endemic only to San Diego County and found no where else in the world. I would like to use that for my Avatar

I would click the picture in postimg.org and it would enlarge and in the link line where you have https://....it gave me the 'link' I copied that and placed it into the Profile or Avatar URL in my settings.

You'll have to use the one that's labelled "Direct link". That's the address that points to the actual image file, whereas the other one is a webpage that contains the image. You can tell which one is the image file by the ".jpg" extension at the end.

Choose your photo from pc or android
Then it will give you many link
Copy the direct link of them
Then go to setting in steemit
And paste the link in the bar of image profile
