Russian team secures ICPC-2019 programming World Champion Title

Last week Russian team won prestigious international programming championship ACM ICPC - again! Students of Moscow State University won the World Finals for the second year consequently. With this victory, MSU students outperformed students of MIT and University of Tokyo.

Other Russian teams representing National Research University MIPT and Higher School of Economics made it to the top-3, according to RIA News. Russia also secured the right to host the next championship, which will be organized by National Research University MIPT.

ACM ICPC contests are the biggest olympiads for programmers, dating back to the 1970s in Texas, US. They went international in 1997, when IBM took up on the sponsorship of the events.
Russian team won the finals in 2000 for the first time, and since then has been strengthening its leading positions.
