Unbox - A new way to configure OpenBox

in programming •  7 years ago

(This post is an example of how to share your Github project on Steemit. For more information, see my previous post!)

Unbox is a new way to configure the OpenBox window manager created for all of you tired of this:
XML Openbox Config

As anyone who's worked with XML can tell you, it starts to feel verbose and redundant almost immediately. Newer formats like JSON or YAML give an edge over XML for user configurations, but the OpenBox project uses XML for backwards compatibility. For those of you tired of spending 20 lines writing the same configuration options over and over, Unbox offers you both the capabilities of a full programming language (Scheme) to programmatically generate your configuration file, and a more compact representation of your entire rc file.
