Until recently, the world of the IT industry was completely dominated by men. Nowadays, however, everything is changing and women have also entered the IT industry.
Previously, men occupied both strictly technical positions such as web developer or web designer, but also administrative and managerial positions. Nowadays, this situation is changing dynamically, and women are more and more members of the management and analytical positions in the IT industry. However, a woman-programmer is still a rarity. It is estimated that women occupy only 10% of all jobs in the programming position.

For years now, many circles like the mantra have been repeating the fact that a woman in this industry has little to say and unfortunately many women bypass all the technological issues with a wide arc - completely unjustified. After all, the bravest ones who took up the challenge have always been included in the pages of history.
Hopper was the first female counter-marker in the American army, and it was she who created one of COBOL's first programming languages and the notions of bug and debugging, which are well known to all programmers. Diana Johnston founded the UK's first software sales company in the 1950s. At the same time, Stephanie Shirley became a great mother, wife and programmer, who had only ladies in her company.
Currently, many women occupy leading positions in the largest IT companies, and their work is valued just as much as men do. Some of them, like the biggest companies are fighting for Sheryl Sandberg, were recruited by Mark Zuckerberg himself from Googel to Facebook for a huge amount of money. On the other hand, Vice President Susan Wojcicki is doing a great job in Google.
The strategy of IBM was influenced by Virginia M. Rometty, the first woman who is President of the Board of Directors of the company. Similarly, Margaret Whitman was also present in the company's conurenal HP (formerly Hewlett-Packard Company), where the boss seat was taken by Margaret Whitman.
More confidence in self-confidence
There is no one definite explanation why so few women are interested in this industry and briquette in it. After all, women do not differ in terms of analytical or technical skills from men. One of them, however, certainly lacks the beautiful sex - self-confidence and support, thanks to which they could gain high positions. Fortunately, an increasingly large female community is being created and a lot of new initiatives are being developed online that involve and support women in the industry.

It turns out that women in the IT industry are very much needed and willingly employed by large brands. The best results are achieved by teams composed of two sexes specialists. Where men are locked up on new opportunities and hold firmly to their opinion, women are generally looking for other possible solutions and are more capable of compromising. Thanks to this, working in such a team is not only more pleasant, but also more effective.
Courage to take the first step, self-confidence that I, as a woman, can be just as good as men, knowledge that still has to be acquired and curiosity of the IT industry - these features should undoubtedly be possessed by every woman who wants to achieve success in the technological world. The IT environment is not closed to women at all, and, as history shows, these most courageous ladies have been gaining comparable and even more successful than men.

I see this in my university, I study at a technological university and still majority is men, but each year, more and more women join in and are really good at what they do ! Different view is always good !

Great post! I work in the IT consulting industry and it is sad to see how few women work for the companies I work for. Especially in a profession were problem solving is our life and blood we need diversity and different view points to tackle challenging problems.
