#project-smackdown begins. Kitty is now being released into the wildsteemCreated with Sketch.

Beta

testing is now complete, and we are now siccing kitty on the 4 most vicious self-voted comments it finds, 4 per day, once a day. This gives us the maximum potential to send the strongest possible message to the most decadent.

@smackdown.kitty will never do anything but neutralising at maximum, and since we are hitting the big ones, probably she will only take a tiny fraction out. Anyone who wants to teach these people a lesson, go download Jesta's Vessel Steem GUI wallet, you can read about how to use it here: https://steemit.com/project-smackdown/@l0k1/jesta-s-vessel-steem-gui-wallet - and with that you can lend some of your Steem Power to help her stop some of the autovorotic asphyxiation being performed upon the rewards pool.

If she gets really charged up with power, we will expand the number of top tier self voters she can target. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps :)

By the way, in case you are wondering why I have been so quiet lately, I've been on a mission to get healthy, while I am here in Sofia. Today is day one with zero cigarettes and zero alcohol. So I'm not having a great deal of luck trying to solve some tricky problems I'm encountering with getting a Steem RPC node up and running.

Vote for my witness @l0k1:

Self-voting is a way to gain visibility by getting SP. If you punish people who buy stake to gain visibility you undermine the incentive to buy stake. This will be a net negative for the price of STEEM and therefore the value of the rewards pool. I disapprove of your actions.

Good post thanks for sharing

go get them Kitty!

opens https://steemdb.com/@smackdown.kitty and waits to see where kitty votes. Who might those "most decadent" ones be

I was gonna upvote on someone's comment but then saw they upvoted their own comment....and I was like, nah, that person not gonna need my upvote. still like their content but if they persist in upvoting their own comments when they are now self-aware many in the community don't like it, then I am gonna be forced to unfollow to make sure steemit persists in the long run.

Go Kitty!

Will be interesting to see if this project works to combat the issues...

Ah, you are a recovering addict. This explains why you are so angry, addled, and disrespectful. Nicotine and alcohol withdrawal must be a heady brew when combined. This also explains why you are flagging my posts, but I have remained above flagging yours.

Good luck with your recovery and your anger issues.

PS - The flag is not a disagree button. I know that is probably too much for your emotions to handle now during withdrawal, but you may get it someday.

"elfspice downvote @lexiconical/make-flagging-great-again-on-self-up-… (-100%) "

PPS - I would have thought the removal of your channel from the Minnow Support Group Discord, one of the "friendliest" places around, would have shown you that you aren't exactly winning hearts and minds here.

Right now I will only comment here to confirm that the reason we didn't use the channel was that we decided there would be too many chat apps.

A totally plausible explanation. Thanks.

Good luck.

That's below the belt @lexiconical ☹️

And @elfspice is right, we closed the Discord channel to keep things on steemit.chat, not because we were kicked or anything.

Is it really, though? It provides a plausible explanation for why he has been so uncivil.

This is from his own blog 10 minutes ago:

""Note, that I have had this happen almost consistently when I stop smoking. Things that I normally tolerate, I lose my patience. Turns out that's how I think when I'm not poisoning myself with natural insecticide. Consistently.""

This is normal for people recovering from addiction. I work in the field of psychology, fwiw, internet lies etc.

Further, I was careful to say the removal of your channel, and I did not specify who removed it (because I did not know). However, for whatever reason, someone decided that removing it was more valuable than keeping it. Had the channel been a powerful recruiting force for this Smackdown project, it would still most likely exist, no?

Here's what I just wrote to him above. Can you really tell me this isn't pretty darn plausible: (no, I can't prove it)

"It is my true belief that you and I got started on a very wrong foot, because I caught you with a question at a bad time that you perceived as an attack."

"The reality is I think we are both very concerned about spam, but your project appears to operate on the assumption that "If SELF VOTE then SPAM"."

"I wanted to challenge this one small aspect of your project, while still mostly supporting the anti-spam project (as I do on my own blog), and it has spiralled into me writing probably 100 paragraphs back and forth with Personz because you simply attacked and muted me."

Had the channel been a powerful recruiting force for this Smackdown project, it would still most likely exist, no?

This is baiting and trolling.

Respectfully, I disagree. It's arguably combative, but nowhere near trolling. If I wanted to troll him, I'd 100% flag his article, like he did mine.

You've done your duty here in "humoring" me, and I clearly have nothing to offer this project given the owner is elfspice and I suspect I only anger him, so good luck. Try not to slap too many quality, self-upvoted comments or start too many flag wars.

Hippo'cat'ic Oath, you guys can keep that one.

PS - This project needs a "Hippo'cat'ic Oath" to do no harm, and I think programming a flagging bot that doesn't differentiate spam but only on "self-upvote %age" makes that Oath impossible.

That's really the only reason I ever set foot in either of you guy's comments or blogs in the first place. Thought maybe I could prevent harm.

I'm sorry to hear that

Best of luck to you, kitty!

I thought you made a decision to close this project...
But now kitty is coming back. Great idea, good luck to you!

I thought I would delegate some SP to the project, but it looks like delegation software is for desktop computers only and I only have my mobile phone.
However it looks like you've already got some nice amount of delegated SP, so have a good hunting.

Great stuff, my man! Release the monster kitty!☺

I don't' see anything happening with kitty

we are now siccing kitty on the 4 most vicious self-voted comments it finds

What is a "vicious" self-voted comment? Does this bot take into account the frequency of commenting and upvoting? Or does it only look at the largest vote? Because if the idea is to tackle abuse, making one upvote on yourself isn't abuse, in my book. And if the user isn't posting a parent/blog post, then why should they be restricted from voting up one of their comments, especially if it's a good comment?

We have more sophisticated algos in the work for attacking the most obvious abusers with less SP. Right now we're going for the worst abusers selfvoting for the largest monetary gains for simplicity. Comment spamming is one of my main concern and will be addressed on a by-offence basis soon after.

I am so weary of everyone telling everyone else what to do with their stake, it is killing my enjoyment of the platform.

Don't self upvote? Why not everyone's stake was mined, purchased or earned?
Don't make comments unless they are meaningful. Too whom?
Shit Posts? Please define?
It is social media, it is supposed to be fun.
It is an experiment, let people experiment.
My opinion isn't any better than yours, but why do people think they have the right to control others and shame them with calling them scammer and other things?
