IBADAN STEEM MEETUP: THE OFFICIAL INVITATION

PROLOGUE

Four months ago, I sat up on my bed in my small apartment browsing through my phone, trying to look for a meetup to attend. That was my first time doing that. It was intentional effort to expose myself to new information about my skills and dreams.

Then, I typed something related to meetup on google(can't remember the exact words), after that I think the first few listings was from eventbrite,I clicked on the eventbrite link and searched through events that had to do with software development. (that was the field my commercial skillset lied in).Then , I found a Google Developer Group Event, unfortunately, there was a SOLDOUT tag on it.

So, i thought of it "Would you stil go there,akintunde?What if they bounce you out, telling you 'We're sold out'".

So, I thought again, "Akin, maybe you should try another event". I was like "Yeah, you're right". So I tried to look through related events , after about 45 minutes to 1 hour of trying to sieve events , I found an event with a funny word in between the title: "STEEM". What is Steem? I tried figuring out what it was. I couldn't . Never heard or seen the word before. it was alien but there was something in the tagline that had to with Money.

If it's money, let's see. So I clicked and the rest is history. I searched through google, found out what steem is, I registered and got my password. The date was Nov. 16 2017 and I was a corp member trying to figure out the future.

The event was going to be a week or two (can't remember the exact date). So I continued steeming while I waited for the event. Before the event, I already made about $8. I was happy. I knew how hard it could be to make money from an hobby, so when I made that from doing what I love, that was the bomb for me.

Fast forward 2 weeks, I went for the event, We did it. and here am I. 3 months after and I have 633SP , made more than 1000 sbd, met some really cool dudes that I am grateful to know.

To let you know this event is going to be dope, we actually had a pre-meeting to plan this. The meeting had close to 50 people in attendance.

As we were "talking go" before I made that quick advert for my app, what were we even saying?. yeah. I remember now. The SteemUp Ibadan Meetup. In conclusion, make sure you come and bring someone along with, possibly someone who has value and wants to be rewarded for it. By the way, we all have value, it just might be undiscovered or unrewarded.
