Crypto Nights returns once again and this week we have an exclusive interview with Matt Starkey (@starkerz) who provides his insights on the future of Steemit. Matt is an advocate of Steemit and blockchain technology & regularly speaks at a number of prominent blockchain events including Steemfest, the London Investment show and more recently Bitcoin – the Future!
Interview with Matt
As @alexmavor mentioned in his recent post. “It is more important than ever to protect the future of Steemit, as we recognise that this platform has huge potential along with the affiliated Smart Media Tokens. It is our duty, on a decentralised platform to ensure that as a community we are providing the most useful content and promoting the most valuable contributors.”
To answer this, Matt walks us through the work he and his team are undertaking to expand the reach of the platform and how he believes that as a community we can ensure sustainable growth on the platform without the need for manipulation.
A few questions that were thrown at Matt include:
What is Promo Steem and is it for everyone?
Can Promo Steem benefit the community or is it really an exclusive group the provides returns for those involved?
His thoughts and reaction towards the recent price of Steem
How can Steemit help those from LEDC’s (Less Economically Developed Countries)
What are your thoughts?
As always we aim to generate thought provoking debates and hear as many views and opinions as possible. After watching this video and if you have unanswered questions, please comment below. A couple of areas to start thinking about include but are not limited to:
Are we moving into a new era of Social Media with blockchain?
Is blockchain the future of social media?
How are Promo-UK promoting the platform?
Shout outs
Our first mention goes to @starkerz for providing us an insight into his thoughts on the future of Steemit, how we can work together to improve the platform and what projects he has in the pipeline.
The second goes to @crytpobobby who is a regular contributor to the Steemit platform and regularly shares his Crypto Investing Strategies on YouTube.

I too agree with this platform. Steemit is on the rise it has less than 200,000 users. Steemit goes over so many different topics it has many different people it can reach. I have not been doing well with this blockchain but hearing matt it made sense that you have to add value. What i guess i dont understand is how you think i can add value to the blockchain and how to get higher steem power.

Great Question. From my experience I would suggest there are two methods you can apply to generate Steem Power. The first is by investing into Steem. This will naturally give you more voting power and a larger presence. The second is to creating content on a regular basis. What I have found is to create content that is consistent and is relatable to your audience. Have a look at mine and Alex's previous posts to get a feel for it.
Don't be disheartened - keep up the good work!

In comparison to other users on Steemit, my Steem Power is relatively low. My vote is currently only worth 0.03, but as my following increases, I hope this will increase. I will vote on content that adds value. There are number of authors that I follow that regularly produce fantastic content and will get my vote. As we have mentioned, there is a lot of waffle being produced, and it's a case of having to work your way through this and find the VAC.

I think you have to actually produce content and put yourself out there. You wont make much just commenting on or consuming other people's work.

Can anyone tell me why my posts are making only cents when before they were making over $20? I have over 200 followers but it's as if they seem to not see my content and no one votes for my articles anymore like they used to. Is this because the number of users on Steemit has grown and shares are more spread out?
