THE NEED TO BE FINANCIALLY FREE - A PRESENTATION DELIEVERED AT GHANA AND NIGERIA MEETUP BY OBADIA AMANKONA @DIAHBALLY , AN ENTREPRENEUR, LEADER AND COACH

Hello lovely steemians it's good to come your way with another highlight on our meetup last Saturday. Today I want to share with what I learnt during our meetup at Sunyani which I think it is very helpful to all. I would have loved that many steemians were around to have witnessed and enjoyed this lovely meeting. For those who were not present I would be taking my time to provide details on many important presentations that took place which I believe will be helpful to you.

Before I proceed I would like to acknowledge and thank these wonderful people whose contribution made the programme a success.

Thank you guys for your massive support in diverse ways, I'm trying to imagine how our next steemfest would be if we are privilege to have great guys like @ackza @nanzo-scoop @starkerz @tytran @ak2020 joining us here in Ghana.

We started the meeting with a presentation by Mr. Obadia Amankona. He is a an entrepreneur, photographer and a leader and a coach of over a 1000 people.

He leads and coaches people build a business that earn them financial freedom and he is steemian, you can check his recent post to know more about him here.

He was very happy to be given the opportunity to also share with us some of his experiences as an entrepreneur.

He focused much on ways we can become rich and be financially free. He was so happy to be among his category of people, meaning to be among people with business oriented mindset like himself. For him it was a joy to see young folks who are so keen to learn and have seen the need to be financially free and so he focused his presentation on given us more points to guide us in our quest to becoming financially free by the aid of Steemit. Though I may not be able to give every detail information he shared but will give the salient point which I jotted down.

As you can see in the picture, I sat at the front ready to jot down any useful information.

Do you want to always work and receive salary, do you want to work for the government ? currently there are about 8500 applicants to the Ghana immigration service when there is a need for 500 applicants to be selected to occupy various positions...

This was what he said when he began his lecture. He then proceeded that there is a need to be an entrepreneur and to be your own boss than just becoming dependant on the government for your livelihood. This led to his first point on how to have a financial freedom:

MAKE A DECISION ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT TO BECOME

Make a decision about what we want to do. This was the first point he talked about and according to him making a good decision has to do with writing your dream down. What you want to do has to be written on paper. What you want to do serve as a road map towards your destination.

BUILD SELF-CONFIDENCE

After making decision you need to be confident in yourself that you can achieve it. You need to confident in life concerning what you what you want to do. It is likely that your idea or your decision will be frowned upon by people at first but it is what you believe in and not what they believe in. If you are confident enough in yourself anything is possible to happen. To him confidence brings followers. If we are confident in ourselves people will begin to follow us. People wants someone who believe in himself, see possibilities and are positive about them. T build confidence is to always encourage yourself, wear good clothing, reward yourself when you achieved something, learn how to talk and to speak boldly.

GET A REFERENCE POINT

Getting a reference point means learning more through reading. There are a lot information around we can go for to enrich our ideas. A man who fails to learn fails to succeed, he said. He explained to us how he has read to discover all the things he is sharing with us. This made him to recommend these great books to all the steemians the ''Richest man in Babylon'', ''Rich Dad Poor Dad''

UNDERSTAND THE VALUE OF TIME

I don't sleep much and I spend hours trying to figure out how things work in the world of business...He said. I work with the time I have because I believe time is money. Time if we use it judiciously will give us good returns. We can't just have time for everything if we want to be successful. Like always spending hours watching the TV, hanging out with relatives and friends all the time.

DEVELOP EVERY SKILL AND FIND A VEHICLE THAT GETS YOU MONEY

We are born with many skills which perhaps is undeveloped. We have to discover what we capable of and then find a vehicle that will get us the money.. that a way in which those skills can be used and become profitable to us. He was so happy we have discovered steemit and using it to our advantage and then commended us in this effort. He then encouraged us to find more because there are countless opportunities we can make use of our skills to become become successful.

YOU NEED PASSION.

To him passion is what makes the difference. Many people have the idea you have and are trying to work on it but it is passion that makes you successful in your own venture. If we are not passionate about what we do, it will mean nothing to us.

ALWAYS SEARCH FOR INFORMATION

The problem of many people is reading and searching for information. He said it is not always the case that there will be someone to enlighten or educate you. We have to search for information our self. if we want to know about anything we should just search for it, get the knowledge and apply.

With these and other useful ideas and motivation he ended his lecture and with such great ideas I believed traveling for the meetup was never a waste of time. This is the more reason I cannot afford to miss any steemit meetup, not only did I had fun but learned from many experiences shared at the meetup.
