Hello world!

Hello steemians!

So yesterday, the 28 january 2018 was a day that would be marked down in steemit history.

The first ever uniben steemit meetup happened at Edo state, Nigeria.

joyous news!

Its been a long time coming, and I am very glad it happened.

The university of benin, aka UNIBEN is a top tier university in Nigeria, with so many top people coming from there, including 2 former state governors, one current serving senator, and many more.

The university has consistently ranked top 10 in the country for the last 10 years, and is home to no less than 40000 students every year.

It was a no brainer then that we simply had to gdt to this institution and get something done.

All through the month of december down to january, I was in talks with members of the school, andany showed interest in having a community here in the university.

The school boosts of a very rich social life/education sort of combination, and many entertainment opportunities are available there.

Upon their resumption back from the holidays on monday, I was immediately told that I must appear for their meetup on the 27th(yesterday).

It was a marvelous time, and I am glad I went.

The meetup held at the marvelously looking Filmhouse cinema, a little after the main campus gate.

first meetup in uniben, a community just a few weeks old

It was nice seeing steemians such as @hornblende @gracehills @kingeazi @paskolo @motivatorjoshua @kinggolo and many other.

For a meetup and a community that is just a fewnweeks old, the turnout was impressive, although it saddens me that no ladies attended.

We had a good number of 17 people in attendance.

This is coming in the hills of the steemit campus invasion program that is occurring all round the country.

The agenda of the meetup was simply to know how to move the community forward, how to impact on the community through steemit, how to use steemit, and grow with steemit, and last and most importantly, how to get more people into the uniben community.

Written in nice bullet points below

  • Promotion of steemit in the uniben campus
  • getting a project going that changes lives in the state.
  • preparation for the steemit campus invasion uniben version
  • teaching newbies how to use steemit.

All in all it was a wonderful time, @kinggolo will be heading down to otefe today to start preparations for the steemit campus invasion, otefe chapter.

@kingeazi and I are currently working on a song that will be released on steemit.

Preparations are going really well for the steemit campus invasion program happening in a polytechnic in delta state, called otefe polytechnic.

Its funny, real funny, because this isnt even supposed to be the first version of this event.

But the students and members in this community have pushed and pulled and made sure thst something big happens here.

The dates have been fixed and revised, and in a week time, all roads will lead to delta state once again for a smashing program.

what is the steemit campus invasion?

In relation to how nigeria works, i have seen a lot of youths waste their lives after school. I have seen people fail to utilize the opportunities ahead of them.

Relying on the government and banks when all they gent are loans and debts.

What i sort to do was a "catch the young" initiative.

To introduce cryptos to those in the universities, polytechnics, high institutions.

The youths, those that will be the leaders of tomorrow, cause lets the honest, the governments dont love to relinquish their powers.

So rather than let these youths be wasted, i sort to introduce steemit to them, in their own schools and before they graduate.

It is an intiative to bring steemit to the higher institutions of learning, were the greatest of minds can be found.

To meet that musician, that artist, that painter, that potential politician, that fashionist, etc

To meet them, teach about steemit, about cryptos, give them ways to combine their businesses with cryptos, ro spread the word of what crypto and blockchain tech is capable of doing.

The future is here, its now, its in our hands, and only by grabbing it can we secure a good and smooth ride into it.

The steemit campus invasion aims to do the above.

It is a project that is supported and supports the larger vision of getting steemit to all nigerians.

I do not know what the developers of steemit had in mind, but. I do know thst ideas evolve in the hands of different people, and for nigerians and indeed africans as awhole, we have taken the idea that is steemit, and evolved it into something far more than whst @ned or @dan or @steemit could possibly phantom.

my steem-ambassador proposal

Hello all, my name is destiny, a music producer, steemian, entertainer, showbiz entrepreneur.

Ive been a steemian for at least 10 months now, and in those ten months, ive been helping out many many people from my country nigeria amd beyond.

Now I dont know how this proposal is supposed to work, but ill try it out anyway.

My dream is one of a united, strong, changed world that view crypto as the next big thing. I am starting with Nigeria, my home country, and I have time and time again stated that nigeria will take over steemit.

I said it in october

Ive been promoting steemit on different sites, whatsapp group, and so on for a long time

nairaland.com, a nigerian site a bit amateurish, but still ok

I work to promote nigerian content and build communities in the country, along side @ehiboss. @gbenga, we have had a great time building the communites, using funds from both our steemit earnings and our pockets to try and move things forward.

Its great being part of a change, because all around the world Nigerians are known as scammers, theives or drug barons, but here on steemit we are achieving the aim of changing the views people have about us, and I personally will make sure there is a pill over effect outside steemit, about the perception the world has about us.

Im willing to push steem far is what Im saying. :D

the contest from two days ago

I want to apologize to everyone concerning the contest I ran two days ago, there was supposed to be a winner by yesterday, but I have been sick for a while now. Rest assured, by tomorrow, i will announce the winner.

Nice brother..please support me my brother

@destinysaid it also saddens me to hear that no ladies attended! But just like anything else, it will take some word-of-mouth testimonials to get some people (ladies included) to fully adopt the steem lifestyle.

All you need is for one or two ladies to be part of your core team. I believe this will in turn challenge other ladies to do the same.

Lol, indeed.

A lady was introduced after the meetup though, deal is, many dont still get it.

That it isnt an MMM scheme, but a full fledged movement!

A revolution
