Church of Uganda to take on steemit as a project of fighting poverty amount it's youth.

When I awoke for my Sunday, I only knew that I had my Sunday school kids to teach. A call from @battebilly soon let me know that i could speak with the youth at church. The idea seemed good.

I planned to speak to the youth after the church service however some were leaving in between before church ends. My spirits were dumpened.

Knowing Anglican churches and their bureaucracy, I decided it might be better to tell the Reverend about my cause.

It took me 2 hours of waiting to finally speak with her. Her look of skepticism warned me to do better than talk so I pulled out my phone and opened my esteem account to illustrate as I speak.

She was concerned about the type of content circulating on the site; " I don't want our youth consuming degenerate content for money." she said.

I was quick to explain the values of the steemit society were people award each other for social benefit and thus "bad" content is automatically sieved as people usually don't award it. I offered her to check through my stories fully knowing I had a Valentine story she might hate her Sunday school teacher having. She scrolled through it and I found myself breathing again. lol

With her brows frowned, she asked; "can't the old people do this?" I felt a shimmer of hope. I explained that they could if they had commitment, a smart phone and good knowledge of the internet (which many in Uganda don't posses) thus my choice of the youth with an upbeat brain and the yearn to learn.

She kept quiet, thinking. My request had been that steemians come and teach the people in the next Sunday service or after the service.

Nothing had prepared me for the words she said next; "Get me the leader of the youth in this church. This is her project.I want all my youth learning and earning. If it goes well, we shall then introduce it to the archedechonary and diocesan youth at large. Make sure my children sign up too"

A slow smile creeped onto my face and I told her; "You, my reverand are a bright woman."

When I left, we were all smiling.

Next Sunday will be the first church announcement about steemit. I will be planning steemit events with the youth leader who has decided that those that are interested despite being middle aged or old will be welcome to try out."

I parted my shoulder and went home happy, knowing good things are yet to come, albeit with some hard work.

I will be writing about the progressive events on this as they unfold.
