HAND PROCESSING PROCESSING LEAVES PANDAN TO MAT

Hallo Steemians here with me @elmicta I show you some activities that people do day to day

Unfortunately, Indonesia's cultural heritage, especially in Aceh has been eroded by modern mats. Admittedly, pandan mats are hard to find in people's homes. Where the use of plastic mats have mushroomed in the store. Another factor, modern mats can be cheaper and even equivalent to pandanus mats. In addition, pandanus mat is considered less attractive because the motive is that-that's all, thin, quickly damaged if exposed to water, and how complicated the making.

Indeed, in areas there are still pandan leaves and some people still take time to make pandanus mats. Call it in West Aceh, pandanus mat is still woven so that the cultural heritage of Indonesia is not lost in the age of eating even more crushed with modern mats.

Pandanus mat is a handicraft that takes a long time to weave it. Pandan is cut from the main, combed as desired small size, dried, and then woven. It takes a little over a week if the sun is really hot to turn the pandan green leaves into white. The longer the sun is the better the quality of the pandan mat. The dried pandanus leaves grow stronger and harder if the intensity of the light is fragile enough. If you want a variety of mats, could have added a natural dye with a note does not make pandan leaves quickly molded and broken when pulled.

The process of weaving pandan leaves into whole mats also takes a long time. This process is highly dependent on the size of the small mats being woven. The larger the mat you want to produce the longer it takes to finish one webbing. Vice versa.

Production of pandanus mats decreases over time. This experience is at least a concern of the relevant parties to be encouraged again. We can easily get wild pandanus grown in the village or on the edge of the forest. Besides making pandan mats does not require a machine or other aids so easily controlled commodities. Pengayaman smart mat requires only skill and habituation. The more accustomed the more neat mats are produced.

This cultural heritage adds value to Indonesia. Keeping cultural heritage is a must for every generation. We never know how long the pandanus mat is known by the younger generation. We also do not know how many young people are able to weave pandan mats well.

PROCESS OF LEAF PROCESSING LEAVES PANDAN

Dear friends, this time I am not discussing what is woven, what is the type of webbing, and how the history of its development. I am sure all friends have very understanding it. Apart from the origin of the webbing itself, I will provide information to my friends, friends, that there is one Village which is the center of woven crafts made from raw pandanus spines.
My friends may be wondering if this pandan leaf can be processed into handicraft art products. We usually hear, see and even buy wicker made from rattan, bamboo, cloth, plastic mold etc.
