Hi Steemians, @starkerz , @anarcotech and Steem Ambassadors,
Here is another idea I have been thinking of regarding the #promo-steem project.
Why don't we create the Promo-Steem token.
The token has its value in the sense that is the currency to pay voluntarysts around the world for their promo steem activities, and good initiatives to remove poverty around the world, and help people and communities.
It also has value for the dividends it pays to SP delegators. This needs to be explained in ROI and transparent.
With the current Steem crypto used to do this, #Promo-Steem has proved itself to have an enourmous value for the growth of the ecosystem.
Creating a token, and giving the token to SP Delegators in exchange for their delegation, will create massive growth on the amount of SP for the #promo-steem guild, that will help give more fair rewards to #promo-steem promoters.
This token may also be used to pay Steem Ambassadors a certain amount for their hard work on the promo-steem project.

I like it! one thing that holds us back is the small amount of steem backing this movement. ultimately, this is what the coin will be valued at, so we need to back the community with a larger amount of steem before we release a token. also token should be distributed to and via steem ambassadors.

Regarding the distribution, I believe it should be via a smart contract, and steem ambassadors will receive them, as well as comunity steemians who make actions/posts that are rewarded by the steem ambassador.
So, if they get the upvotes of 3 steem ambassadors, they will be getting SP/Steem and in the future they can also get the SMT of the Steem Ambassador.
It can be an initial distribution, like some kind of airdrop to steem ambassadors and the community based on something stablished and decided by the community.

We would have to think of utilities for the token such as in order to apply to become ambassador u need to pay a certain amount of token (although I’m not sure I agree with that) or that someone pays for services of promo steem community with the token or by holding the token. Problem with this is that promo steem community should really only serve the steem community, not others. So I’m not sure about utility. Have a think and see what u come up with

I see your point @starkerz . The price of the token will also we valued for all the work the guild is doing. I believe that the small amount of SP delegations backing up the steem ambassador are because most of investors look for short term gains also, and the steem ambassador does not offer to much on the short. It is more of a long term commitment to the growth of the steem blockchain.
For this reason I believe that launching the SMT campaign, like Steem Hunt did, would rise people attention on the Steem Ambassador and the amount of SP delegations will increase.
The same I was within the first 10 or 20 sp delegators on Smart Steem (although I was with a small amount), I was able to see how it got over 1 million SP after a month of existence. And this happened with Steem Hunts business model, were they started giving their token (future token) to SP delegators.
