Finally the much anticipated and the most talked about event of the year was held on Saturday 24th February, 2018. I was no other event than the steem Ibadan meet up. The meet up was a gathering of all steemians in the city of Ibadan, the largest steemit community in Nigeria. The meet up promised to be fun, entertaining, informative, educative and interactive and in all honesty, the meet up delivered all that was promised.
It all started with red carpet and low turn up by participants but that was just for a few minutes before the venue got filled to maximum capacity. This happened to be the biggest and the most organised meet up I have ever attended.
One of the highlight of any meet up is that it provides an avenue for people to meet and interact with one another. The Steem Ibadan meet up made no exception to that. I had opportunity to meet with great steemians whom I have been relating with on steemit as well as new members. Believe me, there is more to people behind those cool steemit accounts if you ever had the chance to see them face to face. So in no particular order, I had face to face encounter with @destinysaid, @samstickkz, @gee1, @fatherfaith, @xpency, @nairadaddy, @ehiboss, @ewuoso, @sparklez, @endowedqueen, @adore-eu, @oredebby, @gloglo, @harbysco, @michealcj and many more whose name I could not remember at the time of writing this post. It was so much fun meeting these folks.
There was also an avenue to learn more about the steem ecosystem. There were series of presentations by reputable steemians such as @samstickkz, @tojukaka, @ehiboss, @destinysaid, @ejemai, @thelovejunkie, @gbenga, @ewuoso, @nairadaddy and @fisteganos. They all delivered their presentation in a way that will make you want to fall in love with steemit. I will be doing a recap of each presentation in subsequent posts.
The organizers of this meetup was so magnanimous such that they made provision for light refreshment for every one. There was also plenty pizza to go round courtesy of @ejemai. The highlight of his presentation was about showing love and he proved that by making pizza available for everyone.
The meet up was full of entertainment right from the beginning to the end. Thanks to @mediahousent and @sushie who co hosted the event.

These two created an atmosphere of laughter and relaxation such that no one was conscious of how far time has gone. They really did an amazing job.
Enough said by me, let me leave you with some of the pictures to do the rest of the talking.....

wow!!! I hope the pictures truly speaks that we had so much fun. Special thanks to the organising committee of this meet up(myself inclusive) led by the 'African steemit ambassador' @tojukaka. You guys did an incredible job and I believe that we actually set the pace for others to follow.
Until the next time I show up in your space again, I remain yours truly @kingsolo
Great write up from a great event. This is some of the best photography I have seen from the event aswell. It really makes a difference - I can feel the buzz in the room. All the best.

Wow, this event looks amazing all around! Seems like you put tons of care into planning with a lot of speakers, focus on networking and having fun. Also love the Steem backdrops and tshirts, all very nice touches. I run a Steemit meetup as well, and going to see if we can do some of the same things at our future events. Congratulations on the success and keep it going. :)
Resteeming so more people can see what you're up to and enjoy.

Yes you are right. A lot went into planning for the meet up. We had 23 planning committee members and we tried to pay attention to details. It is good to know that you're also promoting steemit at your end.
