Do you like to witness, meet, socialize, make friends with the like-minded individuals who love to appreciate life, success, politics, science, faith, arts, skills, talents, ideas, money, etc (anything under the sun)? I did. He/She did. They did. "WE" did. The meetup happened last 4th of February, 2018. There were more than a hundred of talented smiles gathered.
My preparation is just simple. I decide to wear the shirt with my steemit @username on it – LEEBAONG. Hopefully, they would recognize it. LOL! The said meetup is scheduled at 1:00 PM. I don’t like to be late always. I have myself prepared at 11:00 AM and my departure at 11:30 AM. I arrive at the venue at around 1:15 PM. Just on time!
This is the front view of the site, Marisse Patesserie. When I get inside, there are just like a few of attendees yet. I am welcomed by @itinerantph and @ninyea. I am a bit shy for I have no closefriends there yet. I may have engaged a little on some of those bloggers online but haven’t met them yet in person. Additionally, I am not that good in remembering names. Later as I am getting engaged in a conversation with the few, I realized that we were all at home. I have made a lot of awful expressions knowing that “Ohw! It was you, whom I replied, asked, and saw in steemit”.
Early realization? There are so much life in offline engagement. But of course, online engagement is as well irreplaceable. Both are needed for growth.
While waiting for the program to start, we have the chance for chitchats and picture taking. That genius above is my friend – we just met there though – Hero. He is a Japanese journalist and soon-to-be steemit blogger. He is just waiting for an approval of his account registration.

The SBC (Steemit Beatbox Community), leads by @jaderpogi, shares their talent to officially open the program. We are divided into 3 groups – The Newbies, The Active Users and The Internationals.
I am still a newbie but I believe I have heard the topic already last February 09, 2018, so I joined the Active Users group.
@jassenessaj discusses the basics of steemit – The Rules, The Terminologies, The Hows and Whats. As curious and eager as I am, I raise questions for clarifications and better understanding.
@themanualbot focuses his discussion on the technicalities. I admit, it makes me puzzled but at least I’m trying to grasp them all. I am amazed of the fact that, how they are able to learn these things even without an established community yet in Cebu before. No wonder they are now the Core Leaders of our community @steemph.cebu - An ordinary individuals with extra-ordinary skills and heart.
The information is quite much to absorb for now but I know, little by little I’ll get into it. Learning is an unending process. Just give me enough time to have all of these retained. Hahaha!
The Meetups we have are just for free. These are interactive, entertaining and eye-opening. I am looking forward for more meetups and more venues of promoting steemit for a larger community. This a great chance to learn from others, to share each ones experiences, to create and develop lasting friendships in an atmosphere of intelligence, exploration, and candor.
