How different is STEEM power from VESTS in Steemit?

Vests are what Steem Power really is.

Vests are influence tokens that give a user voting power over content rewards, witness elections and decisions to fund proposals in the Steem Proposal System.

Steem Power just tells you how many STEEM the Vests held by an account are worth.

What’s important to note that the ratio of the price of STEEM and Vest is not constant. Vests slowly but steadily appreciate against STEEM. The rate is a little over 2% per year.
