Never been the one to miss an opportunity
Following on from the recent Blog I posted where I shared the Bloomberg News featuring an article on #Steemit, after I posted the Blog I felt compelled to share the article across my Social Network.
Never been the one to miss an opportunity, I couldn't let an article like this slip by without strapping a few flashing lights to it and sending it off to my followers.
In the posts I shared on LinkedIn and Twitter I thought it would be great idea to remind people that "I still cannot believe people use the garbage that is Facebook" and finishing off with "the mind boggles that people still use that crap..!!"
Spreading the love of #Steemit around the World
Spreading the love of #Steemit around the World is what makes me want to get up in the morning, knowing that if I can encourage one more user to take a look at #Steemit and join the Platform, that is one more user that will be unshackled from the garbage of the Centralised Social Media Platforms that have dominated Social Media for the last decade.
For the last 18 months it has sometimes felt that I have been banging my head against a brick wall trying to explain to people that these garbage Centralised Social Media Platforms are simply raping users of their data whilst lining the pockets of the Shareholders, Stakeholders and Investors.
I am buggered if I am going to spend 1 second of my precious life on the garbage that is Facebook, unless that is, to promote #Steemit..!!
Today has been a great day and has been topped off by the article about #Steemit featured on Bloomberg News.
Anyone out there promoting #Steemit and the #Steem Blockchain I highly recommend you share the Bloomberg News article to everyone in your Social Network.

I am amping up my response to being continually censored on Facebook and Youtube. I made a post/video that screen captures the censorship in progress and now when I post a link to that specific video in comments to my friends on facebook, the comment literally doesn't even appear in FB - it's not even marked as spam - it simply doesn't appear!

Facebook, oh Facebook. You were......well basically you were shite. Even before I knew about Steemit, I thought it was one of the greatest brainsucks ever. This is a good direction #steemit is taking. It beats my mind a lot too seeing the facebook page open on a person's phone or PC. the time i started steemit i keep myself away from facebook, i find it creepy now cause it's just a wastage of time. here in steemit you can create some quality content which is valued by people around you and you can literally earn from it but facebook is not the same. i am now looking to deactivate by account from facebook.

I am also one of the garbage user but after coming to steemit i have not logged in into my Facebook account for many weeks cause steemit is worth it and Facebook is not.
finally they are coming to realize what steemit and steemians are trying to do,not distrupt or disturb s something but to create a place where your blogging and time is rewarded unlike other social medias. Something you wrote here made me think of something. You pointed out that FB's raison d'etre is to gather information about its users. It uses that information in order to get money from advertisers.
Now, it predominantly uses it for advertising on its own site, but I wonder if that information can be sold to other sites as well? Probably?
My point is this: in a lot of ways a site like steemit makes it possible for anyone to gather information about anyone. Since all actions are recorded in your history, if you wanted to, you can track who likes what and keep your own record of it. If a bot doesn't yet exist to do it, I'm sure it's not too far away.
It's like democratizing big data. :)
I'm not saying this to scare anyone away from steemit. And I'm not sure that anyone can leverage that information as easily into advertising as one could on Facebook or one of these other sites. But, any thoughts on this thinking? Am I way off?

Steemit is still a very great distance from Facebook, just look at the numbers. Facebook is a well established corporation, raking in billions of dollars, I don't believe Steemit will be able to change that in any big way. Of course Steemit could be the start of a revolution, but so far after two years it is still doesn't have even one thousandth of the number of users Facebook has, and actually I think Facebook users are more active. The Steemit idea has yet to catch on, I can only hope it will because I think it is great, but it is not bringing down Facebook any time soon.

It’s more than a revolution that Steemit is able to reward writers for their content and I believe that this concept will go a long way. The big advantage of Steemit is that it doesn’t restrict you from reading any content and doesn’t add any personalization where facebook gives personalization on the basis of post we interact with. And I hope that steemit will be a big player in social networking site world🙂 steemit getting bigger than facebook is just a matter of time.
