The Only Way To Thrive On Steemit Is To Understand That The Journey Is Meant To Be Tough

Like the saying goes...

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going

Within the few months that I have spent here, I can say with certainty, that thriving, and breaking into limelight on Steemit is never an easy task. You cannot however expect the otherwise, after learning that Steemit is hosting over a million users.

In a community where countless posts are published every seconds, gaining attention is a long one for everyone. Especially the Minnows. However, one good thing about Steemit is that you do not need to seek for attention, your contents will speak for you and eventually bring you out in the open.

That introduction post payout is meant to welcome you and give you good impression about the platform, it does not go on like that at first

Many of us joined Steemit because we heard that people are earning so well on it, (we) the ones that stay after experiencing the sorrow of Minnows (newbies) stay for what we discovered about the community. I bet that is why this famous saying was constructed:

Come for the rewards, stay for the community.

We joined Steemit so we can be making some dough. We saw those posts on trending pages and the payouts were unbelievable. We thought we could be making such payouts as well as soon as we start publishing posts. The payouts we got from our introduction posts as well were convincing. So we stayed and started blogging.

But not so long after we started posting, we saw something rather unexpected. Something rather unconvincing and totally depressing. The difficult moments commenced. We could hardly get up to a dollar as payouts on our posts despite putting great efforts in writing them. The journey that we anticipated to be an easy and smooth one turned out to be rather hard and rough. Things turned out to be the opposite of our expectations. And soon, we started loosing interest.

That is a story about my/your journey on Steemit. In a nutshell, it is a very tough journey. Many of us have gave up and abandoned their accounts. Me and you are still here today because that moment came, when we understand that the journey into the glory land is never an easy one. And if there is one thing that got us convinced to stay, it is this saying:

Tough times don't last. Tough people do.

Becoming successful in any field one chooses is not an easy task. It (success) is not meant for the weak. Not just on Steemit, but in all fields generally.

Understanding that the journey Is meant to be rough and tough is the only way to be successful

People hold @surpassinggoogle in high esteem today. Lot of people respect @firepower, @surfyogi, @gringalicious, @good-karma, @adsactly, @jerrybanfield, @ejemai, @nairadaddy, @gee1, @eurogee, @tojukaka, @ewuoso (the beer man) @michaelcj, @raymondbruce, @kesolink, @softboy112, @mcsamm, @jeaniepearl, and the like today.... For what? Because those guys had great endurance for the hardship that faced them when they first joined Steemit. Because they had anticipated the journey to be tough. Because they were not expecting their posts payouts to be huge at first. Because they weren't after the payouts at all.

If you can take your eyes off the payouts today and focus on building your blog in a decent way; if you can give your all to Steemit today; if you can blog on Steemit with passion as this will help you resist any hardship that comes your way as you journey into the level of greatness on this platform - then all that awaits you is success. And in no time, you are going to thrive and hit the limelight. Then fame and money will surround you.

I am still new here and I do not have much experience or success stories to share with you yet, but I know one thing for sure - that energy and persistence conquer all things.
