Brainstorming for The Confidence Project's Next Steps

in promo-steem •  7 years ago

While technology has made it possible for people from all over the world to communicate, a part of me still believes that nothing will ever beat physical presence. A co-founder of The Confidence Project, @jsmalila, echoes the same thoughts as well. We decided to meet up because we wanted to talk more about the project that we started here on Steemit. If you didn't already know, our project was launched last week and we are so thankful for the support that the community has given us. We didn't want to let you guys down, so we had to talk about the next steps that we are going to take in order for the project to continue.

As @jsmalila is still a Steemit newbie, I hope you guys will extend your warmest welcomes to him. I hope you'll give his introduceyourself post a read! I guarantee that it'll be worth your while. He's been working on it since last week.

Jay had pizza while I had a salad

Lunch was my treat and we had our fill of the pizza and salad at Shakey's. We went to my favorite cafe after as well. I swear, I'm not the type to treat people to meals but ever since Steemit came to my life, I just had to return the favor and pay the blessings forward.

With pens and laptops in our hands, we started to talk about the project seriously. We envisioned our participants and readers taking the journey towards building their confidence in full force. As we decided to keep the details to ourselves until the next takeaway, we hope you'll give some of the insights that we've gathered since we posted our project manifesto a read:

WHAT WE LEARNED

1. Confidence starts in us
Sounds cliche but when something is true, it is. When we decide to set our minds on something, everything just follows. I'm one to say because I've come a long way from being a shy young girl to becoming an advocate of confidence! Here's another cliche quote to convince you - "If I did it, then so can you."

2. We have been more mindful ever since we identified our areas of focus
There are times when I shy away from asserting the progress that I've done with my writing. I remind myself that as a co-founder of this project, I have to be setting the right example for our readers. I tell myself that I've done my writings and that I may make mistakes, but those don't define me as a writer. There are times when the perfect words escape me, but I always believe that they will come if I just keep doing the necessary work.

3. It was a REALLY GOOD MOVE to launch the project on Steemit
We initially intended for the project to be launched on our respective main blogs: Blogger and Wordpress. We figured that since a lot of people are on Facebook, we will have more reach if we shared our project there first. It wasn't until @ybanezkim26 told me to share it with the Steemit community first that I realized the great potential the project has! I'm more than grateful to the participants and the community for the support!

Here are some things that you can expect from the project from here on out:

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. A strong framework that will guide you in building your confidence. This will ensure that no matter how varied our areas of focus are, we will still be achieving our goals together.

2. Follow-up posts that will feature the participants' entries. I will be posting one tomorrow, I hope you guys will stay tuned for that. We had such great responses from great people and we hope that they will inspire you to join in as well.

3. A growing community of confident individuals. This is an ambitious expectation, but part of being confident is saying things like you mean them, so we will make this happen with your help!

Good luck for this @thegaillery.

Thank you for the boost, @mikekenlytungal! I really needed this. I was stumped last night with the thought that I'm not getting enough reach. Thank you for reminding to still hope for the best.
