I am pleased to announce that the first batch of Promotional Pens have arrived from the supplier.

These pens will be handed out free as we distribute the Promotional Flyers to those that we feel take a particular interest in STEEMIT when we talk to them.

Over the last few months while I have been handing out the flyers I have found that people fit into 3 simple categories:

Category 1 - This group is totally against the concept and no matter how much we talk to them we will never convince them to take a look at STEEMIT. These people are simply set in their ways and see STEEMIT as nothing more than a disruption to their existing Social Media environment. On some occasions we have actually been met with abusive language and mockery. This group represents approx 15% of the people we talk too.

Category 2 - This group is usually happy to listen and keep an open mind on what we have to say to them. I have found that on most occasions they simply just need a little persuading and with a little effort on our side I have found that it is simply down to educating them of a new option that is out there. I have found that after 10 minutes talking to them I am confident that they will check out the steemit.com after we have left them. This group represents approx 80% of the people we talk too.

Category 3 - This group needs very little persuading and usually with a minute of talking to them you know that are going to check out the steemit.com after we have left them. It is this group that is simply fed up of what is out there at the moment and see STEEMIT as a breath of fresh air. This group represents approx 5% of the people we talk too.

HANDING OUT PENS

What we intend to do is only hand out pens to the Category 3's and those in Category 2 that we feel confident in to check out STEEMIT after we have left them, which I guess would be approximately 1/5th of the group.

On a good Promotional Day, I would expect to talk to at least 200 Students and applying the above I would expect to hand out approx 42 pens.

• Category 2 - 200 x 80% / 5 = 32 pens
• Category 3 - 200 x 5% = 10 pens

As a promotional "freebie" it is something that the market would take away from you and use.

As they use it, it will be a constant reminder of the talk we have had with them.

It may sound crazy, but at a cost of little under £3 / pen this a very cheap way to provide an effective "Route to Market".

I am looking forward to taking the pens out with me on the next Promotional Day.
