Oh, another thing I learned very recently, sort of off topic but it does influence your play counts... If you're first uploading tracks as private and then make them public later, it absolutely kills your organic distribution to your own followers. One of my most avid listeners actually sent me a message telling me that even though he only followed 5 DJs, my work NEVER appeared in his feed, and suggested I only upload when I intended to make the set public. After switching to this tactic he confirmed it was appearing in his feed AND initial play counts within the first 48 hours have been much higher.
