I have the distinguished honor of being the second ever Steemit prompt party lightbearer, which means it's my turn to announce this week's prompt and post a roundup next week of all your glorious responses. Thanks to Shawna for starting #promptparty, and for picking me to go next.
Our theme for today, Sept. 12, through next Monday, Sept. 18, is family.
This week in preschool, my kiddo and his classmates are learning about families. In preparation, each student was asked to create (with help, of course) a small poster with family photos that they can present to the class. Jax and I had fun looking through my phone and picking photos for printing, then making his poster, decorating it with Cars movie stickers and using different colored markers to write the names of all his relatives.
For the purpose of the poster project, our creation is fine. His class will discuss cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, siblings, and of course, mommies and daddies. But I couldn't help thinking, as we cut out the backgrounds of so many photos just to make more room for collaging them to the orange construction paper Jax chose, that if we were including everyone I consider to be our family...well...
My definition of family is broad; how about yours?
Guidelines for participation:
All types of prompt responses are welcome excluding pornography. Your response can be:
- an image
- a haiku
- a novel excerpt
- a personal essay
- a piece of flash fiction
- a handcrafted technical definition
- a drawing
- a painting
- a journal entry
- a vlog
- a song
- or [fill in the blank]
It just has to be original and it has to be yours to share.
Please use the tag #promptparty with your post. That will help us find each other on Steemit.
Finally, when you post, link back to the week's prompt (that would be this post) and tag the person who posted the prompt (that would be me).
That's it! Let this week's family-themed prompt party commence. :)
Gotta say this prompt is giving me writer life right now.
