Matthew 6:1“Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven."
Matthew 6:5 "And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
6 But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you."
Psalm 46:10 “Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
1 Samuel 1:13 "As for Hannah, she was speaking in her heart, only her lips were moving, but her voice was not heard. So Eli thought she was drunk."
Mark 1:35 "In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there.
Luke 5:16 "But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray."
Romans 8:26 "In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;"
1 Corinthians 14:28 "but if there is no interpreter, he must keep silent in the church; and let him speak to himself and to God."
Psalm 62:5 "My soul, wait in silence for God only,
For my hope is from Him."
GOD'S TEMPLE
The body is the Temple of God. I just thought to make it clear before we proceed to the use of the metaphors, parables, and allegories. The world is the Temple of God as well. So, what does the bible say about it and more, let's see.
Acts 17:24-25 "God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;"
Exodus 20:25-26 "And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon."
"The word in Exodus 20:21 which is translated as 'tool' is the Hebrew חרב which most literaly means 'sword'. Rashi explains that a sword is designed to shorten life, while an altar is designed to lengthen life by being used to achieve atonement. It makes sense, therefore, that one should not be used in the formation of the other."
So no steps, and no pants apparently when approaching the alter, according to the fashions of the day otherwise why the concern. 8/
