Discerning the prophecies: Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches

The book of revelations is a book that follows the style of the apocalyptic prophecies of the prophet Daniel, a book loaded with symbolic elements that are very difficult to interpret. According to the Bible, this book tells us what should happen in the not too distant future, which some authors relate to the prophecies of Nostradamus, Fatima, and Saint Malachi.
Some scholars on the subject maintain that this implies the arrival of the last pope, who would not be the current one, but rather the next; and also a change in world geography with the arrival of the last and third antichrist (who has no relationship with any current president or leader), and the crash of a strange comet that has not yet been discovered.
But not everyone who studies prophecies agrees with everything stated, this is why the gift of discernment of spirits becomes so important, the apostle John tells us about this: "Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches" Revelations 3:6. Hear means perceiving with the intelligence.
No prophecy can be rationally interpreted, is for this reason that the use of the gift of knowledge is so necessary, because the goal of reason are the temporal things but the goal of understanding are the eternal and immutable truths, about the use of the understanding the apostle John tells us: "This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast" Revelations 13:18.
Let us remember that the foundation of all the prophecies in the Christian revelation is based on the beatitudes of the mount exposed by Jesus (Luke 6:20-26, Matthew 5:3-12). Without beatitude, no prophecy would have value, because beatitude is God's plan. We must understand that the prophecies cannot be used to change the future but to live alert to the signs of the times as Jesus explains. Discerning prophecies means to understand that every prophecy is a bliss to those who follow the path of mercy, but to those who sin every prophecy is a punishment.
