Moses, a prophet of God: With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD

Among the prophets of the Bible, Moses occupies a prominent place. Although in the Christian faith the vision is God is fundamentally intellectual, God is wisdom itself, and the perception of God following this reasoning is fundamentally through the contemplative life, the meditation focused in the divine attributes of God; the old testament tells us something else, God had a face to face relationship with his servant Moses.
God first appeared to Moses through a burning bush in the desert, it was there that God revealed to his prophet the mission that he had to fulfill, to free the people of Israel from the slavery in the land of Egypt. And Moses tells us the Bible was afraid to see the face of God: "´I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.´ At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God" Exodus 3:6.
During the trip to the promised land through the desert of Sinai, Moses had to endure conspiracies against him, but God always confirmed him as his prophet. Moses felt overwhelmed by this task.
The Bible tells us that Aaron and Miriam murmured against Moses for having a cushite wife, probably this woman was Zipporah. It was so that God spoke to them, to correct them of their mistake, and revealed to both of them, his relationship with Moses.
The Lord according to the Bible revealed to the prophet Moses in a very special way, not by dreams and visions like Joseph in the Genesis, but showing himself in his true form, God by showing his presence in this way emphasized the authority of Moses as leader of his people, as teaches the Book of Numbers:
"When there is a prophet among you,
I, the LORD, reveal myself to them in visions,
I speak to them in dreams.
But this is not true of my servant Moses;
he is faithful in all my house.
With him I speak face to face,
clearly and not in riddles;
he sees the form of the LORD.
Why then were you not afraid
to speak against my servant Moses?" Numbers 12:6-8.
