Prophetic history: Not one of all the LORD's good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled

With the book of Joshua began the prophetic history of the people of Israel; the story of the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had concluded, and a new period determined by the providence had to begin. The people of Israel with the leadership of Moses had made a covenant with God on Mount Horeb, and as a consequence, the blessing of God had to materialize with the delivery of the promised land.
The conquest of Canaan for the people of Israel represented the transition from a nomadic life, which was an insecure life, to a settled life where there was abundance, happiness, and security; this fact was so important that one of the beatitudes of Jesus is referred to the subject: "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth" Matthew 5:5. In other words, the safe life is a blessing from the Lord for his devotees, the meeks.
After the death of Moises, Joshua succeeded him and he was in charge of starting the conquest of Canaan. And this military campaign was not without difficulties, many regions were conquered, and some nations with great cunning managed to survive and allied themselves with Israel like the Gibeonites. The Philistines, for example, represented a constant threat to Israel, and only with the arrival of King David could the conquest of the territory be completed.
Once the inheritance of the Lord was assured, Joseph began the distribution of the land to the tribes, except for Levi, who was the priestly tribe, and this is how the Bible describes the conclusion of this period:
"So the LORD gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. The LORD gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their ancestors. Not one of their enemies withstood them; the LORD gave all their enemies into their hands. Not one of all the LORD's good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled" Joshua 21:43-45.
