Bittersweet Memory

in prose •  6 years ago  (edited)

Do you think of me? I sometimes wonder if like shooting stars I sometimes cross your vast blue yonder.

I also wonder if I am a good memory too. You see, I never wanted to cause you pain. Or grief.

My hair misses your fingers combing through it. The sensations your fingertips gave my needy scalp.

The smell of rain soaking the dry land reminds me of your earthy scent. Your skin was a jumble of sunrays with some morning dew.

Are your nights long like mine? Do they drag about as our memories steal your sleep like me too? My wish is to be missed by your being alone.

To be held only by your capable arms. Maybe a replay of those nights you held me close. I slept like a child in your embrace. Don't you miss that? Or is it just me?

I miss the oceans behind your seductive eyes. The calmness in your sweet voice. Sing me to sleep one more time my love.
