Prostate cancer is a type of cancer that occurs in the prostate gland. Prostate cancer occurs when the cells in the prostate proliferate abnormally. The prostate is a walnut-shaped gland found below the bladder in the pelvis region of men.The prostate gland produces the seminal fluid that is responsible for the nourishment and transportation of sperms. It also secretes a protein called Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) that aids the semen in retaining its fluid state.

What Are Prostate Cancer Symptoms?

In the earlier stages, there are no symptoms seen. However, as the cancer progresses to its advanced stages, the following prostate cancer symptoms are seen:

Problems while passing urine like slow urine stream, blood in the urine, and frequent urge to urinate.
Blood in semen
Erectile dysfunction
Mild pain in the pelvis
Pain in the bone
Pain in the legs and feet
Sudden loss of weight and appetite
Fatigue
Pain while sitting
Loss of bowel control
