The protest is about the United States being a nation with Amendment 1 rights, whether students like or dislike our Constitution. However, we don't condone breaking the law.
The distinctive feature of these protesters is their primary tactic of covering their faces and hiding their identities. I found this ominous. They may think they're reenacting the protests of 1968, but those protesters didn't hide who they were or wear masks. Over the past two weeks, students have done this to make observers feel threatened. Some larger, faceless force is angry and marching towards you.
