Steemit: The Power To Revolutionize Society

21st Century Fix

There have been countless times in the course of history when the need for change was palpable. These were not times when the populace had access to the resources available today, nor - in many instances - did they have the same recourse to the law as their oppressors, but that didn't stop them. Whether it was to strike, protest, resist or revolt, the people united and did what needed to be done.

So what is going on? What happened to the dream that was the Second Millennium. The curtain came down on a century where the imposition of religious beliefs, racism and conflicting political ideologies soaked the earth with the blood of millions. A century defined by arrogance, the struggle for power and prejudice, but most of all war.

A thousand years of blood, sweat and tears, sacrifice and sorrow. Aren't we supposed to learn from our mistakes? We really had a chance to get it right this time around. What went wrong? Have people forgotten their purpose? And if so, why? How is this possible in this day and age and what are we going to do about it?

The world is at a watershed, and it doesn't seem as if people realize the urgency. I reckon one of the main reasons for this is that most of us depend on the 'authorities' to inform them, and those authorities are the government and the church. Therein lies the problem. Those institutions got us into this situation in the first place and they are not likely to be announcing 'the truth' (and there are many of those that need to be aired) any time soon.
