TECH NEWS -Sony announcing 7 new PS4, PS VR games at Paris Games Week

Sony's pre-event livestream at 11:00 pm Manila time will feature 21 game updates, with 7 new titles meant for the PlayStation 4 and the PS VR
MANILA, Philippines – Paris will play host to some major PlayStation 4 (PS4) and PS VR announcements on Monday, October 30 (October 31, Manila time) as Sony is set to show off some new games during Paris Games Week 2017.

According to the PlayStation blog, the company will have a media showcase at 9:00 am PST (12:00 EST, 12:00 am of October 31 in Manila) showcasing a number of titles.

An hour before that, however, an introductory livestream will feature 21 game updates "including 7 all-new game announcements for PS4 and PS VR."

Sony will be streaming the events live on live.playstation.com, Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook, so if you want to tune in to the new game announcements, don't hesitate to check out the streams beginning at 11:00 pm in Manila
MANILA, Philippines - The PlayStation 4 is officially available in the Philippines.

Sony Philippines launched its next generation console at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati on Tuesday, January 14. Sony says about 1000 consoles have been sold since it began accepting pre-orders last December.

The base price for the PlayStation 4 is P24,999. For a little bit more you get extras. You pay P26,999 for the Console & PS Camera bundle, P26,899 for the Killzone: Shadow Fall bundle, and P27,399 for the Battlefield 4 bundle.

We’re told limited stocks are allocated to the Philippine market, but units should still be available at Sony Centers in Metro Manila, Pampanga, Cebu, Davao and Cagayan De Oro.

Consoles purchased directly from Sony come with a one year regional warranty honored in 5 other South East Asian countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

The device has been available locally since December 2013 via gaming store Datablitz.

The official release guarantees warranty and support.

In contrast, Microsoft’s Xbox One is not officially sold in the Philippines.

Both consoles sold 1 million units in the first 24 hours of their US launch late last year, but Sony sold at least a million more units than Microsoft in 2013.

At the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Sony announced it had sold 4.3 million PS4’s in 2013. Last week Microsoft on its blog announced it had sold 3 million Xbox One consoles last year.
