My 1st Blogpost! Sony Playstation 4 (PS4) Pro

From PCs, to handhelds and consoles, I'm a gamer and always will be.

I'm not a pro or an eSports professional, mind you, I'm a casual gamer that tries to balance gaming with priorities in life. PC gaming is really where my heart lies, but a good console gaming experience is not one to be missed.

This is why I thought it appropriate for my first blog post on Steemit to be about gaming, something that I'm (casually) passionate about :D

So, on to the post!

Basically, EB Games (GameStop in the U.S.) has a great trade in deal going for a PS4 Pro. Until May 3rd 2018, they will let you trade in a regular PS4 system and pay $249.99 CDN in return for a PS4 Pro system. Since a standalone PS4 Pro sells for $499.99 CDN today, you're essentially getting a PS4 Pro system at half price. While this may not be a 'great deal' for some people, it certainly was for me.

EB Games doesn't seem to really care what condition the PS4 is in, as long as it boots up and works. After re-initializing my PS4 system and packing it back in the original box (not required, but hey, what am I going to do with it? lol), I lugged it to the nearest EB Games to trade it in. Now, here's the best part; it just so happens that during this trade in promotion, there's also a super rare limited edition version of the PS4 Pro system called the God of War edition. If you haven't heard of it, basically, it comes with the God of War game which just released at the end of April 2018. EB Games extended the trade in promotion to this limited edition PS4 Pro!

The only problem? No store had it in stock...

It's in such high demand that every store I called either had people in line ready to get one or they had no stock coming in at all. Worst of all, even if you found a store that did have one, you had to physically be there to get it, and that wasn't a possibility for me as I work during the day and EB Games stores open at 10:00am (these systems apparently sold within minutes of the store opening).

So there I was... do I try daily until May 3rd (end of the trade in promotion) to see if one of the many stores had a God of War edition miraculously available or just get the trade in done and pick up a black/white PS4 Pro system? I really wanted the God of War game, but alas, it wasn't meant to be... Luckily, however, there was another limited edition system available, and while I didn't really care for the "edition", a free game is a free game and that made me feel better about the trade in :D

Enter, the Star Wars Battlefront II Limited Edition version of the PS4 Pro.

The system definitely looks pretty awesome with its high gloss piano black top and embossed rebel & imperial sigils. The controller is really nice too, as it's customized to match the theme.

In the end, the trade in was a great deal. My original PS4 was seemingly on the fritz with a loud as heck fan & disc spin-up noise, so getting a free game and a limited edition console in return for the PS4 plus $249.99 CDN was well worth it for me. Now my 4K TV displays wonderous gameplay & streams fantastic looking Netflix video (with the premium account).

If you want the latest and greatest in gaming, I urge you to take advantage of this offer. Only a few days left! Also, if you happen to come across the limited editions of the PS4 Pro - trust me - you won't be disappointed.
