28th June 2017 - Club Imaginal, Brighton UK

In a talk called "The Origins of the Imagination", Dennis McKenna explored our historical and ancient connections to psychedelics such as Magic Mushrooms (depicted on the left). I'm so thankful I got to see this legendary man talk in person.

He argues that they may have been the catalyst for all human social & technological innovation - and how our culture needs them more than ever to transcend our destructive ways and avert the prospect of one last great big Magic Mushroom (on the right).

"It all started with mushrooms, let's not end it with mushrooms."

Dennis is the founder of Symbio, an investor in companies with a focus on positively shifting the global consciousness (for example, using the hallucinogenic, deity spawning psychedelic Ibogaine to treat addiction). He is the brother of the late Terrence McKenna, and talks about the famous "heroic dose" in the above snippet. But my favorite lesson...
