I was probably 11 or 12 years old when I had my first out of body experience, or OBE. Prior to the experience I was reading about astral projections in a book called "Psychic Voyages" from the Mysteries of the Unknown series. I was trying all kinds of stuff.
In that book are instructions on how to have an OBE, and I was trying it out. One unsuspecting night I did it, well almost.
That night, I laid on my bed on my back and drifted off to sleep. All of a sudden I hear a loud sustained tone. It felt very loud - reverberating the walls. As I hear this sound I get this strange feeling all over my body. My eyes are wide open.
I begin to lift up in the air - as I do this I look to the left to see if my cat is noticing what's going on. She's looking right at me and I had never seen her eyes so large looking at me.
I turn my head back up, and I continue to lift up in the air. I begin to feel a bit scared. "Am I leaving my body?" I think to myself.
I look back down below me and I see me asleep. Panic begins to set in.
I was thinking "what if I can never make it back into my body?". Then all of a sudden I suck back down into my body, and I wake up. I've never had such an experience like this since.

Even though I did not get up and walk out of my body and wonder around I still feel I had enough of a good experience to believe that there's a lot we can do if we just trained ourselves for such things.
We all have genius potential if we put our minds to it. We are all also psychic too, I believe.
