Lesson: Everything you will need for a happy life is already within you.
Thoughts: Given our global culture of constant consumption, achievement and comparison, it is easy to look around and feel as though others have it better than we do. We see things that others conspicuously consume and then decide we must want the same things. This doesn't even touch on the fact that what other people show us is not the actual life they live.
Due to global connectivity and the ubiquity of social media, millions of people are spending hours every day curating just the right image on social media. That's the image that they want the world to see, but it is often only loosely connected to reality. It is a shield from the truth. No one is 100% happy all the time; it's simply not possible. The more we cling to image, the easier it is to forget that happiness is internal. It comes from knowing our own wants and needs, and then taking the calculated risks necessary to get them met. Comparisons only serve to delay us from taking action, or shame us into thinking we aren't good enough. Everything we truly need reveals itself as we improve our relationships with ourselves.
Really well said! Definitely a reminder for everyone. I feel like this is something everyone can relate to and try to work on.

Exactly, I think if we all let go of some of our ego drive and let ourselves be, we can discover great things about who we are. Thanks for reading!
