Happiness

in psychology •  7 years ago  (edited)

Sometimes when things go right I ask my self what's the catch now? That happiness and good things seem like too good to be true for me now...

But then I agree that happiness is right here, right now, chasing after it by changing our location, asking people to change and other external factors will only lead to further disappointment.

There's the Edmond Dantes in us, but only those who have gone through it all and refused to quit will reap the rewards eventually. Reward in life not only in terms of success or monetary equivalent but becoming a well-rounded person, strong and unshakeable. That's enough of a reward for me.

A wonderful comment as always @diabolika!

The world we live in sells us this narrative that happiness is fickle, and even dangerous, so we all need to become, as you say, strong and unshakeable, to be able to enjoy it without self-introduced blowback!

So few understand this my friend. Great insight.
