Wow another informative article! I love the article especially the latter segment dealing with why some people cannot overcome minor depression and progress into severe depression. Again, I believe it falls back into not being able to deal with life stressors and allowing it to manifest which takes a toll on our brains. Therefore, preventetive measures here (as well in almost all aspects of medicine) is key. But I had no idea with the correlation between the smaller hippocampus size and depression. To my knowledge the hippocampus was damaged in diseases such as dementia and alzeihmers (memory based diseases), but this was a great opportunity for me to learn. Very interesting, thank you!
