Most of us have the same old routines in our daily lives. We have our morning routine, then we drive to work, then we go to the supermarket etc.  We get so stuck in our ways that being stuck actually feels normal, and if anything slightly changes your routine, it can throw your whole day into chaos.

Our brains are designed to do the same thing over and over. We feel comfortable doing things the way that we do it, and if anything throws out that rhythm it is often difficult to accept. We become grumpy over the littlest things and we turn into unhappy grumpy miserable people.

Change is hard

Change is so hard. It is often so hard that we cannot accept it.  We are so completely stuck in our ways of doing things, that we do not embrace change and make the best of it, instead we become miserable people constantly fighting against the change and then you are stuck in a miserable job and you change into a robot, just doing things because you have to.

Who of you have ever read the book "Who moved my cheese?" ?  This book was written by Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson and it will be an absolute wonderful addition to your bookshelf.  It is a fast read but in that short book, you learn more than you can ever imagine. It will help you to understand why change is in fact not a bad thing, but it will also teach you how to deal with change.

Change is a choice!

You have to decide if you want to be stuck in a rut, or if you want to change your life for the better. Do not let opportunities pass you by because you are too scared to take the jump.

If that opportunity is gone, it is gone forever, but if you made your decision, stick by it.  There is nothing worse than someone constantly regretting the choices that they made in life.  You should be self assured with your decisions otherwise that very familiar question of "What if?" will creep up on you more times than you can imagine.

If you regret things, it will change your life and you will turn into a negative person, and we all know that negative vibrations attract more negative things.  Soon you might be noticed as the grumpy one and it is very difficult to get out of that situation.

To go ahead in life, change is necessary!

Reasons why change is actually good for you!

1.  You are moved out of your comfort zone.  If you change your comfort zone, you will learn new things and you might be totally surprised at what you thought you couldn't do.

2.  You will gain more life experience!  There are so many opportunities out there that you won't believe!  I  am sure that you missed out on some awesome opportunities just because you were too scared to take a chance.  The whole world is open in front of you. What do you want people to remember when you are not  longer roaming the earth? You now have an opportunity to find out exactly who you are and what you want to become in life.

3.  Remember that it is never too late to do anything.  You become more flexible and relaxed if you embrace change more.  Once you accept change, and you realized that it is a good thing, you will understand that you should never get too comfortable in one place.

4. Once you embrace change, you will become a happier person! When you are happy, change doesn't even really matter. You will realize that you are open to new things, and if you make a mistake, there is always the next opportunity, and you will know exactly how to handle it.

Great philosophy and thanks for the book recommendation. I also have one for you. Once you have decided on change then it's time for refinement and discipline. I read a book by Richard Back called Jonathan Livingston Seagull. It would also be a nice edition to your bookshelf.

Well it is opposite with me. If things happen the same way with me, I feel there is something wrong :p

But yes you are right. Change is hard to accept generally. But change is fun and important ofcourse. I really like your articles :)

One thing I do when I feel in a rut is drive a different route to/from work.
"That will take longer!" my mind says.
"I don't care!" I say to my mind.
Just this simple change can reset my whole outlook.

It works like a charm....thanks for your comment!

I enjoy the small routine I have established first thing in the morning - out of bed, boot up computer, draw curtains, turn on coffee machine, pour glass of milk to use to take medications for creaky old lady, brush hair, empty bladder, weight myself, pour coffee, return to computer. Trouble is, beyond that I can never seem to maintain a productive routine. The only way I ever get any creative writing done is commit to not opening emails, social media, bank account, whatever. However, today is the dawn of a new day on a new platform, having culled many of the far too many bookmarks saved under many categories and now have one folder titled ACTION which, if contents accessed in the order of list should/will/may produce a productive routine - until the next time. Three days seems to be my limit of doing the same thing daily - even the mini routine outlined earlier gets tweaked for variety. Seems I have a great taste for spice and thank you for brightening up my day.

Change is something that is constant, but it true sometimes it also a choice, but when someone is comfortable in a position, to choose to change is hard, its never esy leaving your comfort zone

As frightening as it is, change is vital. doing the same thing over and over will most likely produce the same results, switching it up a little every now and then can't hurt. Nice read.

Get yourself a toddler, nothing will ever be the same again! My boy makes life terribly unpredictable, and I'm loving it!

Great article.
As you said, once you learn to embrace change and not turn it down, you'll learn new things and your life will be a whole lot smoother.

Yes yes! Btw block chain is also is a giant change for many people I guess )))
Everything is changing constantly - but first you should embrace changes inside because they are the route for changes outside hehehe 🤓

Thank you very much for your good advice gaint bear i appreciate it. I feel also the same even if you just go for a walk in the morning on the beach

Change is definitely a choice. It depends on us if we want to change or not.
