Higher Level Curiosity

When people think about the virtues curiosity is not one that usually comes to mind. Healthy curiosity though is a great quality. By being curious we can investigate deeper and deeper and find out the facts.

The great sage Sri Ramana recommended what he called 'Self Enquiry' as the ultimate question. By continually and deeply asking the question "Who Am I?" the false ego will fall away revealing our true transcendental nature. So "Who Am I?" is the ultimate question, the question of all questions, the final question. Such is very profound but what of curiosity in our everyday lives?

Someone patiently curious about a subject can discover new things about it. They can become a world expert in it. This means you.

A high IQ is not of much use if the consciousness is dead to new ideas, if they lack healthy curiosity and are too close minded.

Someone of average intelligence but with a determined curiosity can discover far more and achieve far more than someone of higher intelligence who lack these qualities.

Add your high IQ to a healed and empowered curiosity and you can change the world.

One way to strengthen curiosity is actually to focus your curiosity on itself. If you deepen your appreciation and understanding of curiosity by saturating the virtue with your awareness it will surely strengthen and become useful for you.

You can use this to investigate all your other positive qualities and character flaws and will thus be able to resolve long standing issues by understanding their previously hidden causes. Knowledge is power.

Love and accept the healthy quality of curiosity within yourself.
