"The most difficult thing in life is to know yourself"
-Thales
This post is an excersize in getting to know yourself as well as your neighbours here on Steemit.com. It's true what they say that all people are different, unique even. While I believe this to be an interesting idea it's also said that all people can be broken down into 16 personality types through a quick and painless test. This post will have you take this test.
What's Your Personality Type?
Personally I'm a "INTP-T" type personality, a fairly rare personality type that only around 3% of the population display. Some notable people with this personality type are Bill Gates and Einstein. We're the introvert logic types. Analyzing everything around them regardless of if they wish to or not. More on the INTP-T personality here: Logician Personality
People exhibit certain sets of traits throughout their lives and generally tend to not deviate to terribly far from their normal routine. If one were to honestly answer the questions given in the Myers & Briggs personality test it may give them a bit of insight as to what their personality traits are, allowing them to make the most out of the way of being they happen to be. Knowing yourself is important!
A small summary list of the possible personality types is listed below for your reading pleasure: (Excerpt from www.myersbriggs.org)
ISTJ
Quiet, serious, earn success by thoroughness and dependability. Practical, matter-of-fact, realistic, and responsible. Decide logically what should be done and work toward it steadily, regardless of distractions. Take pleasure in making everything orderly and organized - their work, their home, their life. Value traditions and loyalty.
ISFJ
Quiet, friendly, responsible, and conscientious. Committed and steady in meeting their obligations. Thorough, painstaking, and accurate. Loyal, considerate, notice and remember specifics about people who are important to them, concerned with how others feel. Strive to create an orderly and harmonious environment at work and at home.
INFJ
Seek meaning and connection in ideas, relationships, and material possessions. Want to understand what motivates people and are insightful about others. Conscientious and committed to their firm values. Develop a clear vision about how best to serve the common good. Organized and decisive in implementing their vision.
INTJ
Have original minds and great drive for implementing their ideas and achieving their goals. Quickly see patterns in external events and develop long-range explanatory perspectives. When committed, organize a job and carry it through. Skeptical and independent, have high standards of competence and performance - for themselves and others.
ISTP
Tolerant and flexible, quiet observers until a problem appears, then act quickly to find workable solutions. Analyze what makes things work and readily get through large amounts of data to isolate the core of practical problems. Interested in cause and effect, organize facts using logical principles, value efficiency.
ISFP
Quiet, friendly, sensitive, and kind. Enjoy the present moment, what's going on around them. Like to have their own space and to work within their own time frame. Loyal and committed to their values and to people who are important to them. Dislike disagreements and conflicts, do not force their opinions or values on others.
INFP
Idealistic, loyal to their values and to people who are important to them. Want an external life that is congruent with their values. Curious, quick to see possibilities, can be catalysts for implementing ideas. Seek to understand people and to help them fulfill their potential. Adaptable, flexible, and accepting unless a value is threatened.
INTP
Seek to develop logical explanations for everything that interests them. Theoretical and abstract, interested more in ideas than in social interaction. Quiet, contained, flexible, and adaptable. Have unusual ability to focus in depth to solve problems in their area of interest. Skeptical, sometimes critical, always analytical.
ESTP
Flexible and tolerant, they take a pragmatic approach focused on immediate results. Theories and conceptual explanations bore them - they want to act energetically to solve the problem. Focus on the here-and-now, spontaneous, enjoy each moment that they can be active with others. Enjoy material comforts and style. Learn best through doing.
ESFP
Outgoing, friendly, and accepting. Exuberant lovers of life, people, and material comforts. Enjoy working with others to make things happen. Bring common sense and a realistic approach to their work, and make work fun. Flexible and spontaneous, adapt readily to new people and environments. Learn best by trying a new skill with other people.
ENFP
Warmly enthusiastic and imaginative. See life as full of possibilities. Make connections between events and information very quickly, and confidently proceed based on the patterns they see. Want a lot of affirmation from others, and readily give appreciation and support. Spontaneous and flexible, often rely on their ability to improvise and their verbal fluency.
ENTP
Quick, ingenious, stimulating, alert, and outspoken. Resourceful in solving new and challenging problems. Adept at generating conceptual possibilities and then analyzing them strategically. Good at reading other people. Bored by routine, will seldom do the same thing the same way, apt to turn to one new interest after another.
ESTJ
Practical, realistic, matter-of-fact. Decisive, quickly move to implement decisions. Organize projects and people to get things done, focus on getting results in the most efficient way possible. Take care of routine details. Have a clear set of logical standards, systematically follow them and want others to also. Forceful in implementing their plans.
ESFJ
Warmhearted, conscientious, and cooperative. Want harmony in their environment, work with determination to establish it. Like to work with others to complete tasks accurately and on time. Loyal, follow through even in small matters. Notice what others need in their day-by-day lives and try to provide it. Want to be appreciated for who they are and for what they contribute.
ENFJ
Warm, empathetic, responsive, and responsible. Highly attuned to the emotions, needs, and motivations of others. Find potential in everyone, want to help others fulfill their potential. May act as catalysts for individual and group growth. Loyal, responsive to praise and criticism. Sociable, facilitate others in a group, and provide inspiring leadership.
ENTJ
Frank, decisive, assume leadership readily. Quickly see illogical and inefficient procedures and policies, develop and implement comprehensive systems to solve organizational problems. Enjoy long-term planning and goal setting. Usually well informed, well read, enjoy expanding their knowledge and passing it on to others. Forceful in presenting their ideas.
Take Personality Test
The test linked above takes maybe 5-15 minutes and is a simple multiple choice style quiz. If you honestly answer the questions it should give you a bit of insight into the type of person you are! Hopefully people take the time to do this test and learn a bit more about themselves.
While I'll not ask you post your personality type in the comments if you feel like sharing you are more than welcome to do so. It can be fun knowing what type of personality you are as well as the people around you. Perhaps it will better help a person understand you or eachother if you know what type of personality you're engaging with. Knowledge of self is something most people give not a whole lot of thought to.. But it's amazing what sort of things you can learn about yourself if you do a little searching. Until next time my Steemit crew!
I took the personality test and it said I was a debater... A master debater if I dare say ;) :D

Interesting. I've heard of Meyers Briggs but never took the test till now. Reading through everything this result hits home in most everything for me. The strengths and weaknesses are all spot on especially as I can see each one distinctly within my life.

I always enjoy taking these personality tests because I forget what type I am. Thanks for sharing this. I ended up with ESFJ-A, which means I'm a Consul personality. The results are pretty accurate.
It's fun to see what other people get. We definitely have a variety of personality types on Steemit.
I checked out your blog. You've got some great content. You've got my witness vote! I'll be following for more posts like this.

About fifteen years ago I took the test, it was part of a teambuilding at the job I was working back then, I came out ENTP, I was surprised that I was extrovert, but it was around 50%.
With this this test I came out INTP-T, I must say this test was a lot shorter then the one I took in the past, but the intro/extrovert was again around 50% I guess i'm a borderline case.
The other parameters are pretty decisive.

PROTAGONIST (ENFJ-A)... I'm warm, a leader, and responsible. Should I run for office? lol
Joking but those are good traits for starters. I just would need a person that understood law! haha That's not my strong point, so maybe I'lll skip running for office!
Thanks for the link to the test Klye! :)

I loved this personality test! I don't think I took it right 100%, but I definitely got a close result to what I would have expected for about 50% or so. The other half, I'm still working through in my head to determine if I took the test correctly, or if I have convinced myself that I'm different than the test results show :)
Thanks for sharing! Re-Steemed to give others the opportunity to check out this fun personality test :)

On a purely Steemit-Note. I would suspect that 90%+ of all Steemians have a personality that starts with "I" for Introvert! :)

Mediator personalities are true idealists, always looking for the hint of good in even the worst of people and events, searching for ways to make things better. While they may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, Mediators have an inner flame and passion that can truly shine. Comprising just 4% of the population, the risk of feeling misunderstood is unfortunately high for the Mediator personality type – but when they find like-minded people to spend their time with, the harmony they feel will be a fountain of joy and inspiration.

Hi @klye, I read about MBTI back in 2010. It's very good and helpful in understanding all the 16 personalities. I took this test several times and every time the result was IXTP. Useful post. Thumbs up!

Being truthful is the key to accuracy of the results. IXTP is the type where sometimes, I act as ISTP and the other times as INTP. My sensing always dominate the N (intuitive) function.
