Characteristics of Low Self-Esteem

• Not believing in you.
• See yourself failing before you begin something.
• Find it hard to forgive mistakes (made by you or others).
• Believe you will never be as good as you should be.
• Are afraid of showing your creativity.
• Feel dissatisfaction with life.
• Are spending most of the time alone.
• Are complaining and criticizing too much.
• Are worrying about everything and doing nothing.
• Have more mental health issues.
• Treat yourself badly, but not others.
• Are expecting less from life.
• Are not fair to yourself.
• Are reluctant to take on challenges.
• Disregard or diminish your positive qualities.
• Use negative words to describe yourself.
• Blame yourself when something goes wrong.
• Are concerned what others think about you.

Low self-esteem can make life extremely painful. It can lead to feelings of being a victim, or feeling out of control. Poor self-esteem also causes internalization of the criticism from others. Low self-esteem decreases happiness and reduces initiative.
